Friendly, quirky, social enterprise

It was Passover so no bagels, but I had a bowl of borscht, unlimited hot chocolate, toffee matzo. The people working there were all volunteers and told me about the cafe and its mission and were very friendly. It is a social enterprise and feeds those who cannot afford to pay. The food was very cheap and if you pay a bit extra it pays for someone who can't afford a meal. So an interesting social business model. There are lots of interesting books and leaflets about activism. Next time I am in Glasgow I will go for bagels, which they bake on-site.

Pros: All vegan, Social enterprise, Welcoming

Odd

Staff were rude making me feel like I was an inconvenience. Walked out.

Make sure to visit while in Glasgow!

A unique and special initiative which serves the local community. The volunteers who run the cafe have a relaxed approach to all who visits, which is a nice contrast to commercial businesses. I enjoyed the menu which is centred around homemade bagels, pickles and vegan cheeses.

More than a restaurant

Really worth checking out ! Between all the bagels and the desserts like babkas or tarts, there are plenty of tasty options to chose from. There is a free food fridge outside and a "pay for someone else" system inside. The place is also full of cool art, zines and objects, making it an activist heaven.

Delicious baygls and a radical art exhibition!

Had a lovely evening with a few of my friends eating wonderful food and listening to some incredible artists. Thank you for this space!

Great community place, great food too!

Really enjoyable, highly customisable 'baygels', fit for breakfast lunch or dinner. Pay as you can model, with low suggested prices for what you get. Doing excellent work in the community for the homeless too. Highly, highly recommended 😊💖
